    Centre Street Food Pantry Announces Expanded Hours

    Centre Street Food Pantry, has announced its response to the pending cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Access Program) and other hardships created due to the government shutdown. Centre Street will expand its hours, provide additional Thanksgiving items, and stock as much food as possible to provide fresh produce, dairy and meal-making groceries to those in need.

    Massachusetts District 4 Representative Jake Auchincloss recently honored CAN-DO’s executive director with a framed copy of her 2002 congressional testimony on how community development block grants can support affordable housing development.

  • MBTA Reduced Fare Program expanded:

    MBTA Reduced Fare Program Expanded

    The MBTA’s income-eligible reduced fare program offers reduced fares to riders between the ages of 18–64 who are enrolled in an approved state assistance program.

    Income-eligible CharlieCards can be loaded with cash value for roughly 50% reduced one-way fares, $10 7-Day LinkPasses, or $30 monthly LinkPasses.

    In a ceremony at the Park Plaza Hotel, William James College bestowed one of three honorary degrees to CAN-DO Executive Director Josephine McNeil at graduation ceremonies alongside two hundred students.
